The Aquila Tourbillon by Barasi & Caine is a masterful fusion of advanced horology and everyday resilience.
At its heart lies the BC102T tourbillon movement, a high-precision caliber built from premium Swiss components. Its unique architecture features a free-sprung balance wheel that enhances isochronism for enduring accuracy and stability. The absence of a traditional regulator improves the durability of the Swiss-made non-metallic alloy hairspring and long-term precision. Carefully adjusted in six positions, the BC102T achieves an accuracy of –3 to +7 seconds per day.
The off-centered, single large barrel provides an impressive 105-hour power reserve while preserving the movement’s thin profile. Engineered for real-world durability, the BC102T features robust technical specifications uncommon in tourbillon calibers. Non-magnetic components, including a Glucydur balance wheel with gold adjustment masses and LiGA-fabricated micro-components, allow it to withstand magnetic fields up to 2,000 Gauss.
Its tourbillon cage bridge, combined with advanced shock absorbers, is impervious to vibrations, shocks, and acceleration forces up to 5,000 Gs in all directions. The escapement, a major energy consumer, is refined through sophisticated LiGA technology to minimize friction and maximize efficiency, ensuring long-term mechanical integrity and exceptional chronometric performance.
