Service & Care

The Commission Does Not End at Delivery.

A Baresi & Caine timepiece is not acquired and then set aside by the Maison. It remains known to us, in the same way it remains yours, for as long as it is worn.

What follows delivery is not a service department. It is a continuation of the same relationship that began with the first conversation.

Every Baresi & Caine is a Pièce Unique, and every Pièce Unique is documented in full at the moment of its creation, the materials selected, the finishing applied, the exact configuration of a movement built for one owner alone.

When a commission returns to us, it does not arrive as an unfamiliar object. It arrives as a piece we recognise, cared for by the same atelier, and where possible, the same hands, that brought it into being.

We do not simply service a watch. We continue a piece of work we began years before.

A mechanical movement is a living mechanism, and like any living mechanism, it asks for attention over time. Oils dry. Components wear. Precision drifts by fractions of a second that, left alone, become minutes.

We recommend a full movement service every five to seven years, carried out to the same tolerances the piece was built to originally, using components made to its exact specification.

Should a case, dial or bracelet ever require restoration, whether through age, an accident, or simply years of being worn as intended, our approach is the same one used in its creation. Nothing is approximated.

Where finishing must be restored, it is restored by hand, to the standard the piece left the atelier with, never to a lesser one.

Straps wear differently to cases, and often ask for attention sooner. We hold the specifications for every commission's original strap and hardware, so a replacement is never a compromise, only a continuation.

Water resistance, in particular, should never be assumed. We recommend a technical inspection whenever a case has been opened, or every few years as a matter of course, to confirm the seals remain exactly as they should.

An owner does not need to know the technical language of watchmaking to reach us. A conversation, whatever form it takes, is enough to begin.

Because we hold the full history of your commission, from the earliest sketch to the day it was placed on your wrist, we are able to advise with the same understanding of the piece that shaped it in the first place.

You should never need to explain your watch to us. We already know it.

A Timepiece, Not a Transaction.

Owning a Baresi & Caine was never intended to end at the moment of delivery. It continues in the wearing, and in the care that follows.

Because a Pièce Unique deserves to be looked after as carefully as it was made.
